Gatotkaca taking on Karna . A scene from Mahabharata

It is sundown on the 14th evening of the great Mahabharata war. Ghatotkacha, son of Bheema, is wreaking

havoc on the army of Kauravas. The battle has now gone on beyond sundown, which has given more powers to him . He could become invisible and change his size too.

Eventually Karna is forced to use that weapon (Astra), called Shakti, which he had reserved for Arjuna. This sculpture depicts the epic final fight between Ghatotkacha and Karna, in which Krna eventually kills him.

It is said that even in his death, he increased his size several folds and fell on the Kaurava Army and killed thousands of soldiers!
